01 — Why Korea

Your event is international.
The execution is local.

Staging an event in Korea means working inside Korean procedures, Korean contracts and Korean-language administration. You keep control of the event. We make the Korean side work.

01

Documentation

Korean procedures run on Korean-language paperwork, with review cycles and deadlines that differ from other markets.

02

Venues

Korean venues contract, invoice and settle locally. Overseas entities are rarely able to sign directly.

03

Vendors

Production suppliers work to Korean commercial practice — deposits, tax invoicing and local settlement terms.

04

Operations

Show day needs people on the ground who can work with venue staff, suppliers and an international audience at the same time.

02 — What We Handle

One desk.
The whole Korean side.

Scope is set per project. Fees are fixed and agreed in advance; they are not linked to ticket sales. Third-party costs are billed separately against documentation.

01

Korean Documentation

Preparing, translating and coordinating the paperwork required on the Korean side.

02

Venue

Venue sourcing, contracting and day-to-day communication with the venue.

03

Production

Stage, sound, lighting and technical vendors — sourcing, ordering and management.

04

Local Coordination

Working with Korean platforms, suppliers and local stakeholders on your behalf.

05

On-site Operations

Staffing, audience flow, check-in, fan-benefit coordination, safety operations and event-day execution.

06

Multilingual Desk

English · 中文 · 한국어 · ภาษาไทย — announcements, enquiries and on-site guidance.

03 — Staging in Korea

What actually applies
on the Korean side.

A short orientation for organizers planning their first Korean date. We keep statutory requirements and planning judgement clearly separated.

Required
A

Foreign Performance Recommendation

Required before a foreign performer can appear. New applications carry a statutory processing period of 10 days; amendments, 5. Applications are reviewed on a weekly cycle.

B

Visa Documentation

Different visa categories apply depending on the length and nature of the engagement. The recommendation above is a prerequisite document.

C

Venue & Safety

Obligations differ depending on whether the site is a registered performance venue and on expected attendance. This is checked before a venue is confirmed.

Planning Recommendation
D

Ticketing Lead Time

Not a legal requirement — a planning judgement. Where a meaningful share of the audience travels from abroad, allow a longer on-sale period than a domestic-only event: flights and accommodation have to be booked before tickets are.

E

Sequence, Not Speed

Most Korean steps depend on an earlier one being finished — a venue contract before certain filings, documents before visas. Delays compound in one direction only.

For general orientation only. Requirements vary by event type, venue and attendance, and are subject to change. We verify the current rules for each project and confirm them in writing before commitments are made.

04 — How It Works

One Korean desk,
from brief to settlement.

Timelines are built backwards from your event date, not from a fixed template. Before execution starts, we confirm feasibility, scope, cost drivers, payment flow and responsibility lines. Each step below has to close before the next one can start.

01

Project Brief

Artist or IP, event type, target date, audience size, venue requirements, budget range and current organizer structure. We tell you at this stage whether the timeline is realistic.

02

Korea Setup

We check feasibility, map Korean-side requirements and cost drivers, agree the service scope and quote, and document approvals, exclusions and responsibility lines before execution.

03

Production

Vendor quotes and orders, technical planning, staffing and the operational plan for the day.

04

Pre-Event

Ticketing coordination, multilingual audience communication, safety preparation and final checks.

05

Event Day

Load-in, rehearsal, on-site operations and a four-language desk for the audience.

06

Settlement

Documented settlement of third-party costs and a written wrap-up report, delivered within one week of the event.

05 — About PILGRIM

A Seoul desk built
for organizers abroad.

PILGRIM is a Seoul-based local production partner for international organizers staging events in Korea. We do not promote events ourselves and we do not represent performers — our client is the organizer. We also treat audience information, queueing, check-in, fan benefits and staff response as part of production quality.
